I’m an aesthetically-driven director who embraces the power of motion picture to communicate emotion, ideas and complex messages—and fully understands the creative tools required to execute a dynamic and engaging vision. I’m a formally educated filmmaker and a past recipient of the ABC Television/Disney New Talent Development Grant for filmmaking (there were only 10 winners nationwide each year).
The role of director is not taken lightly. It is fully understood that you are the creative lead of the project and must partner and effectively communicate a vision to the other creatives and technicians, and collaboratively work together to create exceptional results.
To speak frankly: if any director says they enjoy production I feel they are doing it wrong. It is one of the most stressful and intense positions to be in, since everything is hinging on your ability to move the production towards a shared, unified vision, have in your mind’s eye a plethora of considerations and variables simultaneously in order to make the best decisions, and the confidence in your sensibility to ultimately know what is good or not and what is working or not and why. This process is profoundly satisfying: watching something come to life.
I’m currently in the phase of building out a current portfolio with self-funded and self-produced projects like the one above. I’m currently in the post-production phase on a visual effects heavy, superhero commercial, and in pre-production on additional commercial concepts and short films.
